Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
2 Corinthians 4:18 … we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Luke 16:11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
Things I Say to Myself (The Reward of Self-Indulgence)
What we do with our money reveals the true state of our hearts
For our hearts will always be where our riches are
Whatever our interests and affections are set on
Will determine where we invest our treasure
If I am not investing in the cause of Christ
I am wasting my passing opportunities and impoverishing myself in eternity
The more I spend on myself, and the more stuff I accumulate in this life
The less treasure I will have in heaven
For the true riches are not down here but over there
So I will not shirk my responsibility of being a faithful steward
God does not reward those who fritter away His resources
And spend money on unnecessary luxuries and creature comforts and status symbols
9 God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:
“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”
17. Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the Lord, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?” 18 He replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding.” 19 Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the Lord. And the Lord did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched: 20 As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground. 21 When the angel of the Lord did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the Lord. 22 “We are doomed to die!” he said to his wife. “We have seen God!” (NIV)
11. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. (NIV)
25 “… you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. 26 … I will fulfill the number of your days.”
“Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders?”
Who among the gods is like you, Lord?
O Yahweh, there is none like You!
There is no one among the gods of Egypt or any other nation,
And there is none among the gods of modern paganism either.
Who is like You - majestic in holiness?
For Lord, You are magnificent, praise-worthy and wonderfully holy.
